This magnificent art nouveau lorgnette is made in 18k yellow gold. It dates from he early 1900s. It is made by Dunhill and comes in its original case. The lorgnette has a pair of folding glasses. The handle, beautifully portrays the fine craftsmanship of the era. The front and the back of the lorgnette are beautifully detailed in soft swirls and scrolls. The eye glasses fold in half and are hidden within the gold encasement, opening easily with a simple push of a button located on the side of the handle. At the end of the gold handle is a fairly large gold ring which is perfect for hanging from a chain. It can easily and dramatically be worn as a pendant. The lorgnette weighs 29.23 grams. It measures 5 12" x 1 1/2'. A striking and opulent piece.
